Sexuality is an integral part of being human.
Sexual health encompasses your physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being related to sexuality. It means:

• Your body functions well during sexual activity.
• Being sexual brings you pleasure and fulfillment.
• You experience sexuality free from coercion, violence, or stigma.
• You can express your gender identity and sexual orientation freely.
• You enjoy sexual experiences free from fear and anxiety, with positive self-esteem and mutual respect for your partner.

Sexual health also includes protection against unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. Unfortunately, access to quality sexual health education and care is limited due to availability and affordability challenges.

The MOOC ESMN UNESCO: "Promote Sexual Health" is composed of six mini-MOOCs. It empowers learners to:

• Act autonomously in their interventions related to sexual health.
• Align their behavior, attitudes, and communication with human rights values.

This MOOC aims to advance knowledge and practice in sexual health with a focus on human rights. Specific goals include:

• Protecting young people from sexual violence.
• Fighting gender inequality, incest, sexual mutilation, and sexual exploitation.
• Combating sexist and homophobic prejudices.

• Health students and professionals.
• Anyone working in or interested in sexual health.

Each mini-MOOC has an average duration of 1 hour and includes:

• Animated videos and video interviews.
• Infographics and comics.
• Quick Q&A sessions.
• Evaluation and post-evaluation quizzes.

The MOOC uses a blended learning approach:

• Learners participate in both structured and peer-to-peer activities.
• Registration on social networks (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook) encourages group discussions and material exchanges.
• A robust platform supports multiple formats and large-scale participation.

Zeï, a gender-free mascot, guides learners throughout the course, making the learning journey engaging and insightful.

The MOOC comprises six mini-modules and 10 topics:

1. Comprehensive sexual education
2. Sexual health and human rights
3. Sexual cultural issues today
4. Global challenges in sexual health
5. Communication on sexual health and human rights
6. Implementation of a shared curriculum

We are a network of health professionals and academics across Europe working to address the challenges of sexual health. Our mission is to:

1. Create a network of interdisciplinary researchers and professionals.
2. Share research and promote cross-country collaboration.
3. Develop a foundational university education program in sexual medicine.

• How long does each mini-MOOC take to complete?

  • Each mini-MOOC lasts approximately 1 hour.

• Is there a certification?

  • Yes, upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate of participation.

• Do I need prior knowledge of sexual health to join?

  • No, this course is designed for all levels, from beginners to advanced learners.

• How is the course content delivered?

  • Through animated videos, infographics, comics, quizzes, and interactive discussions.

• Can I access the course materials offline?

  • Some materials can be downloaded for offline use, depending on the platform setup.

• How do I join the social learning groups?

  • Instructions for joining groups (e.g., WhatsApp or Facebook) will be provided after registration.

• Is the MOOC free?

  • Yes, this MOOC is completely free and accessible to all.

Knowledge assessment :

- Pre-assessment: An initial assessment analyzes participants knowledge of sexual health and the topics covered.

- Post-assessment: A final assessment at the end of the program measures participants' acquired knowledge. Successful completion of this assessment is a prerequisite for obtaining the training attestation or certification.

-Qualitative evaluation of training :
At the end of the course, participants are asked to complete an evaluation questionnaire to assess the content, teaching aids and overall learning experience.

How to register :

Registration for the course is made directly on our website, and is validated,  Participants will receive a confirmation e-mail containing their login details for our Moodle platform, as well as practical information about the course. The course will be directly accessible in the “My courses” section of the platform.

Access times :

Access to the platform and training content is only available during the period defined in the training dates. After this period, participants will no longer be able to access videos, documents and interactive supports, with the exception of downloadable resources (PDF or slideshows).

Tools required :

To ensure optimal training conditions, participants must have the following:

A computer or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) equipped with a microphone and integrated camera (if required).
A stable Internet connection sufficient for viewing videos and participating in interactive modules.
